The 420 Cannabis Decontamination Systems
Pass State Mandated Testing Levels with 99.9% Confidence
At Rad Source, we help cannabis operators protect their profits by ensuring the distribution of safe, pathogen-free cannabis products for both medical and recreational use. Our patented QUASTAR® technology utilizes advanced X-ray irradiation to offer operators a non-thermal, chemical-free solution for effective cannabis decontamination. This process preserves the quality, color, flavor, and psychoactive effects of the cannabis, providing a reliable and efficient method to maintain product integrity.
What is X-ray cannabis decontamination?
Cannabis decontamination is a post-harvest process designed to ensure that cannabis products meet state-mandated safety and quality criteria. This technique uses antimicrobial technology, like as X-rays, to reduce the amount of common contaminants in cannabis, including as Aspergillus, mold, yeast, and bacteria, which can create health issues for consumers.
How can X-ray decontaminate cannabis?
The QUASTAR X-ray fully penetrates cannabis flower and mitigating hazardous microorganisms by destroying cell DNA structure, lowering the product’s bioburden below regulatory levels and removing the possibility of testing failures.

Peace-of-Mind Cannabis Testing™
Rad Source’s Photonic Decontamination (light) process, which uses the same technology that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved to prevent the growth of dangerous microbes in food, keeps consumers and employees of growing facilities safe because it completely eliminates the presence of harmful chemicals. No chemicals also mean that the terpenes, potency, moisture, and visual quality of the product remain intact.
RS 420 Series also conforms to all federal guidelines within Schedule II, Part XV of the Canadian C.R.C., c. 1370 Radiation Emitting Devices ACT as a Cabinet X-ray System.

Features and Specifications
Superior High-Quality Photons – Highest Flower Penetration
The RS 420 produces efficient short light wavelengths that assure 99.9% remediation efficiency rate and the power to penetrate a tightly packed flower to destroy challenging microbial at their DNA level preventing reproduction.
Protects Public Health
- Uses the same technology as the FDA has approved for food to reduce dangerous microbes in biomass.
- The proven technology in use in Canada and the Netherlands for cannabis.
Repairable Light Source Design – Low Cost of Ownership
- The Quastar light is engineered to be repairable and last up to 7 years.
- Only Quastar can achieve superior dose uniformity resulting in lower run times.
Designed for Life Science, Natural Fit for Cannabis
- The Quastar emitter is designed to perform as well with Cannabis as it does for Life Science applications.
- For the cannabis market, it is specifically designed to inactivate microbes at their DNA levels thus inhibiting their ability to reproduce and grow.
Superior Flower Integrity
- Photonic Decontamination will not heat the flower, thus causing premature decarboxylation of THCA.
- Unlike chemical and other energy remediation processes, Rad Source’s solution will leave the terpenes, potency, moisture, and visual quality of your product intact.
Chemical and Residual Free Technology
Photonic Decontamination penetrates the flower with light and will not saturate the surface layers of a flower with disinfectants or other potentially toxic chemicals, nor will photonic decontamination leave any potential residuals.
Helps Prevent the Risk of Secret Shopper
- Microbials can continue to grow inside the flower and on the surface even after other remediation technology processes the harvest.
- The photonic decontamination method for decontamination is the best choice to be able to penetrate the flower.
Hassle-free Onsite Processing
Rad Source’s proprietary carousel technology stabilizes the loaded cannabis canisters and gently moves the flower around the light source to provide unmatched dose uniformity and decontamination without damaging trichomes or other physical characteristics of the product.
Physical Appearance and Integrity Maintained
